Comments
The insert contains the following restriction sites (in nucleotides from the 5' end of the published sequence): PstI--151; HindIII--749; BamHI--1305.
Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--4.3, 1.7; KpnI--6.0; HindIII--5.1, 0.9; PstI--4.3, 0.85 (doublet); BamHI--4.75, 1.25.
pTR1 detects genomic EcoRI fragments of 6.0, 4.1, and 1.9 kb in rats and genomic EcoRI fragments of 12.0, 8.0, 3.5, and 2.7 kb in humans.
The insert extends from nucleotides 91 to 1771 of the cDNA. The coding sequences extend from nucleotides 57 to 1482. The insert has the complete 3' untranslated region.
A 525 bp PstI-KpnI fragment (nucleotides 155-680) of pTR1 detects a 7.9 kb genomic EcoRI fragment in rat cells which corresponds to the related gene, transin-2.
pTR1 detects a 1.9 kb mRNA in both rat and mouse tumors.
